Freighters & Liners

Freighters and liners are the starships that make the galaxy turn. Light freighters make up the bulk of individual transports for the smuggler and merchant types, though the majority of freight is completed by bulk and heavy transporters. The latter often need their own escorts as most lack armaments. Liners are similar enough to the freighters, simply fitted with increasingly fancy passenger cabins.

The most important factors for freighters tend to be weapons and hyperdrive ratings, but there is a lot of subjective flavour that comes into picking one from the table.

Light Transports[]

These are all some variation on the classical Millennium Falcon, itself the popular YT-1300 model produced by Corellian shipwrights. In fact, a vast number of the light freighters available are produced by Corellia.

Bulk Freighters[]

The bulk shipping companies typically employ convoys of these freighters escorted by mercenary vessels. However, they are often quite armoured and can take a punch. Some groups favour these freighters as mobile bases, as they are easy to modify.

Liners & Yachts[]

Varying in comfort, the cheapest bulk liners are filled with bunks only just affording enough room for passengers and refugees to rest on their way across the galaxy. "Space Yachts" refer to luxurious transport vessels which serve as little more than shuttles for dignitaries.

Utility Vessels[]

Some of these medium and large vessels are specifically built for a set purpose, such as a large weapons platform or scientific surveys on the edge of space. These vessels are often older and less versatile models.
