While the galaxy is mostly the vastness of space, to many individuals the surface of their planet is the most vast environment that they will care about. Traversing around a planet can often be done by starships, but these are often quite expensive and require a certain upkeep that may not be worth it. Vehicles are used in their stead, ranging from the ancient wheeled craft to the virtually starship-like airspeeders which use the ubiquitous repulsorlift technology.
