Using a comm scrambler adds two setback dice to any checks made to decode an encrypted transmission.[1][4][5]

While the Age of Rebellion Roleplaying Game: Core Rulebook shows this as "Encum 4 | Rarity 3", the Errata (Page 1) corrects this to "Encum 0 | Rarity 5".
