Unmatched Expertise ability tree

A combination of education and hard-earned life experiences can make Colonists far more capable individuals than they appear.

BASE ABILITY[]

Once per game session as an action, the character may spend two Destiny Points to reduce the difficulty of all career skill checks [they] make by one, to a minimum of Easy, for the remainder of the encounter.

UPGRADES[]

Reduce Setback: When making the skill check to activate Unmatched Expertise, the character removes a setback die.

Reduce Difficulty: Unmatched Expertise reduces the difficulty of subsequent career skill checks by two instead of one.

Reduce Difficulty: Unmatched Expertise reduces the difficulty of subsequent career skill checks to a minimum of Simple instead of Easy.

Activation: Unmatched Expertise becomes a maneuver instead of an action.

Activation: Unmatched Expertise becomes an incidental that may be triggered out of turn, instead of an action.

Destiny: To activate Unmatched Expertise, the character only needs to spend one Destiny Point instead of the normal two.

Superior Reduction: Once per session, once the character has activated Unmatched Expertise, [they may also use it to reduce the difficulty of one non-career skill check [they] make. This follows the same rules as using Unmatched Expertise to reduce the difficulty of career skills.

While Far Horizons: A Sourcebook for Colonists shows the same activation upgrade twice on the tree, the errata (page 3) corrects the third from the left to read as the second activation upgrade listed here.
